OpenTunnel Designer CONNECT Edition Help

Template Drawing Rules

The units used in the template are based on the seed selected when starting a model, Metric or Imperial. The working point (WP) should be used as the reference point. It does not necessarily need to be the center of the shape, but this is typical.

After the user has created closed shapes for the theoretical excavation, extrados, and intrados, using the tool Create Complex Shape. User can assign tunnel specific properties to the shapes by using the tag tools provided. Depending on the active workflow, the tag tools may require closed shapes, lines, circles or closed boundaries. Only the tagged geometry will be shown in the GUI previews.

At least one tunneling part is needed for creating a tunnel solid. If no tunnel lining parts have not been defined, the corresponding tunnel template will not be made available for selection in the Place Tunnel command.

All the geometric information regarding a tunnel template, excavation subspaces, reinforcement, and auxiliary objects is saved in the corresponding dgn.

User can add constrains and variables to the created geometry so that he may be able to control the geometry afterward.
